Bronze is a relatively easy metal to cast, given its chemical properties, and is a relatively inexpensive material.Bronze is an alloy that is traditionally made up of copper and the metal tin. It’s made up of 88% copper and 12% tin.
What is bronze casting?
Bronze casting is the process of pouring molten bronze into a hollow mold to create positive bronze objects or parts. Methods of bronze casting, like lost wax, ceramic shell, and sand casting are used to produce bronze xxxxxx

Bronze investment casting serve many commercial and industrial applications. With the ability to convert multiple part assemblies into a single part and varying wall thicknesses, the design possibilities are limitless.
Bronze casting processes & methods
Bronze casting processes have been around for thousands of years. It is a versatile process that utilizes different types of molds and materials depending on the project you want to cast. The following is an overview of the different bronze casting processes and methods.
Lost wax casting bronze
Lost wax casting is used to create a one-of-a-kind, detailed metal object by building a mold around a sacrificial wax model. After the mold investment is set, the wax is melted out and forms a cavity where the bronze flows in. When the bronze cools and solidifies,we can remove it from the original mold.
Sand casting bronze
Sand casting uses resin-bonded sand to construct a mold that the bronze will be cast into. When the mold is cured and the pattern is removed, you can flow molten bronze into the hollow area. Once it cools, the result is a single cast metal object.
Once the piece is cast and cooled, the mold is broken open, and the finishing process begins. The metal sprues are cut off and sanded down, and the piece’s surface is finished as desired.

We specialize in casting highly complex parts in the 0 to 20 lbs range, and are equipped to produce castings up to 100+ lbs.
Bronze Investment CastingBronze is a copper-based alloy with a diverse range of characteristics. That makes it an excellent choice for a myriad of applications. Bronze alloys are resistant to corrosion and metal fatigue. The alloy can be very strong. But as the alloy’s tensile strength increases, its castability decreases.
A commonly used bronze alloy for investment castings is aluminum bronze. It has both good tensile strength and good ductility. Makes it useful for high-stress and high-impact applications.
Another popular bronze alloy is silicon bronze. It is best known for its use in art castings due to its desirable yellow hue. But, the silicon content of the alloy also provides self-lubricity while maintaining the natural strength of bronze, making it a perfect fit for many valves and bearing applications.
RFQ
- What can you produce with bronze casting?
Methods of bronze casting, like the lost wax casting, are used to produce sculptures and statuettes. This can also create plaques and medals, and embellishments used in furniture and decorations.
- Is bronze casting expensive?
Bronze casting can get very expensive. The process, from the creation of the mould to the casting until the patinating and finishing touches, requires several labourers. Bronze sculptures also take months to get done depending on how complicated and large it is. So if you want one made, be ready to spend around $10,000 to $100,000.
- Is bronze sculptures a good investment?
Bronze sculptures, especially those made by popular artists, have a higher value than other forms of art. The more expensive it is, the better the chance that it can be a good investment. However, you should make sure to do some extensive research first before purchasing. With proper care and maintenance, your bronze can be a timeless piece perfect as a decoration in your home that could last several lifetimes.
- Where can I inquire for bronze casting services?
Bronze casting or the production of bronze sculptures are made in a foundry. Foundries are factories where various metal castings are done. There are foundries that could provide the bronze casting service that you need, either you’re an artist looking for a foundry that can assist you with your work or you’re someone who wants to commission a bronze sculpture. You can look up online if there are foundries near you.
